So i'm on a tight budget, but i want a video card that is better the my 9800 pro, ati of course =) Should i just wait for the x1800xl to drop in price?

Tight budget doesn't help much.

The best deal at the moment is almost certainly the x800GTO which unless you are really skint would be fine.

yeah right NOW i'm on a budget, my the time a 1800 drops in price i could have more cash on hand =)

To help a monetary value of a budget is required. Certainly for myself a budget for a graphics card is about $500 but for many it would be a lot less.
