upgrade yonah to merom??

I read few articles on upgrading your processor from yonah to merom. I was wondering if you can upgrade processors on HP laptops. I currently have T2050 duo core in my laptop. When merom comes out do you think I can upgrade my precessor?

Pretty sure you can. If you have a Core Duo chip you can upgrade to a Core 2 Duo (I guess that's Yonah/Merom respectively). I believe I read that in an AnandTech article.

thats cool. I was hoping you can upgrade your processor. Do you have a link to the article?
I have another question. I heard that some laptops the processor is soldered on to the motherboard is that true? Do you know if HP laptops are like that? cause if thats the case you can't really change the processor.

dude the easy way to find out if ucan upgrade is by using cpu-z.Check whether ur yonah is PGA or BGA.
If its BGA u are out of luck.If it s PGA u can upgrade.
