Given the fact i've onboard realtec 850 sound, and the ability to get either a sb live or audigy 2, would purchasing speakers as such lead to any discernable increase, and if so, explain.
I've never had the x530's but I do have the Z-5300's. From chatting back and forth here on the forums I dont think there is a noticeable difference in quality.
Having gone through just about every Soundblaster product ever made, I can say there is a slight difference in audio quality between the Live and Audigy 2. But you would probably only notice it in digital mode and you can't use digital with the 5300's. And if you're gaming, you wouldnt want to use digital even if you could. The Audigy 2 does offer more hardware channels.
So you have to decide for yourself if moving from EAX 1 to EAX 4 is really worth it. I dont think it adds much to my gaming experience.
EDIT: It just occured to me that the above advice may not have been helpful. My opinion is: 1. Get the Logitech z5300's. They sound awesome.
2. Go gangbusters and get a soundcard that really does make a difference. One of the new X-Fi's.
