So it was supposed to be just a simple swap out the CDRW drive for the DVDRW drive. Unfortunately, I forgot to change the jumper on the DVD to CSEL so when windows loaded one of the drives didn't show. Realizing my error I shut down fixed it, powered back on and then...

CMOS Checksum Error

Unable to Boot from Floppy
Please make sure....

Or something to that effect. Anyway, I shutdown again and flipped what I thought was the CMOS jumper (thanks to bad light and bad eye sight), which ended up being the FSB 100/133 jumper. After trying to boot again I get no video signal, and beep codes as following: High: Long Short Short *Pause* Low: Long (Long?). This is an e-machine, and I was able to track down this is an FIC AM37 (VIA) motherboard and I correctly cleared the CMOS. Unfortunately the beeps persist. I attempted removing the floppy from the equation, and when I do that i get: High: Long Short Short *Pause* Very High: Short (repeat indefinately). FIC's mobo manual had nothing about beep codes in it, and I don't know them and am not sure if they're exactly standard anyway. Help?

EDIT: Ok maybe it is standard, which means it's a Video error. Unfortunately this is onboard video. Any suggestions? And wtf did this happen on a drive swap? Did I, or the new drive, short something?

Sounds like video problem according to this link. ,however never rule anything out, also have you a spare video card you can try?Looks like you may need to start going through all the basics like checking all connections, jumpers, ram fully seated and even try taking the CMOS battery out for awhile then put it back in.

Yeah I've tried unplugging everything, reseating everything, etc. Unfortunately I don't have a 2nd video card I can try, and even if I did I would have to hope it didn't default to the onboard and cause the same problem. CMOS battery has been sitting out for a couple hours now, so maybe it's time to pop it back in and give that a whirl.

Well, leaving the CMOS out for an extended period and reclearing everything didn't help at all. Pretty much down to the video at this point... meaning the board is shot I guess. :|
