Upgrade to W10, but revert to clean install W7?

I have a laptop with W7 on it as a testbed for programs and such. I recently upgraded to W10 and am fooling with that, which I have activated.

Question: If I wind up not liking W10, or bork it up in some way, am I going to be able to wipe the drive and clean install W7... and leave it W7?

I know there are some questions posted about the license, but I really haven't seen an answer to this, specifically.

I don't see any complication here. As long as you install the right, OEM edition of Windows 7 on your laptop (if it came pre-installed). And the key should be on the back of the laptop.

No, and I should have mentioned that... this was originally an XP PC, I upgraded it to W7 with a builder's disk some time ago.
