Upgrade to SP2 (need help)

I was unable to upgrade to sp2, it said invalid product ID. I know I need to change my ID somehow but how?

Do you have a pirated WindowsXP installed? If not, don't be offended, it's just the first explaination that springs to mind.

no, i am using the orginal win xp copy that I got it at school

School !!! what do you mean by Getting a windows XP copy from school... dude sounds like a pirated WindowsXP

MS has licensing agreements with many universities. Perhaps its an educational copy.

In any event, call MS with your product ID number.

Have you tried streamlining SP2 in the WinXP installation media and installing from there. That *might help* you avoid this 'Product key' issue.

Avoid in the sense if you have a genuine key......
