Currently I have the following drive setup in my i7 sandy system (stats in sig)

60gb OCZ Vertex2 (OS)
1TB Seagate Sata2 7200rpm (storage)
500GB Seagate Sata1 7200 (not being used atm)

Since I upgraded the motherboard and processor last week and aquired sata 3 ability on my motherboard I was thinking about swapping the storage drive and the non used one for a nice 2tb 7200rpm 3.5" drive that supports sata3 6.0gb/sec. Will I see any access time increases with loading games that will really make a difference from sata2?

The only thing SATA 3.0 helps is SATA 3.0 SSDs.
For regular mechanical drives there are no benefits.

I agree with Lonyo. Aside from some larger cache and faster burst speeds, good luck getting your moneys worth from a speed aspect. Could short stroke it(or them) for a little better snap though.

You know, the Vertex 2 is probably capable of higher speeds than SATA2 is capable of, but there's nothing we can do about it.
