Good price?

You should be able to get >$50 for a 9800Pro.
I agree that anything under x800xl would not be worth upgrading.

I'd say hold on a little longer, if possible.
I'm running a 9800XT, and am also mentally pacing, waiting for a clear upgrade path.

I'm also eyeing the Dell 2405 monitor, which would effectively force my hand to make a video card upgrade as well. A friend of mine just upgraded to that monitor, and then to the x800xl. His tests showed an almost doubling of performance. (i don't run benchmarks anymore, too many games to play)

You're in a good place now, though. the 9800 can still tackle games out now (albeit without AA). This fall, more cards should move the prices down a bit more, and your money will go further.

On the other hand, $225 for an XL ain't nothing to sneeze at.

I'm in the same situation but I think when the R520 is released, X800XL and 6800GT prices will be dropping. That's what I'm waiting for, when one of those 2 cards drops to 200ish (agp flavor) I'm gonna jump on it.

considering you can get a x800xl from monarch for 250 and probably sell you 9800pro for 100, thats a total cost of 150 (+shipping)

acutally u could go with a 6800nu by evga and easily unlock and oc it i get really close to stock 6800gt speeds with mine..
