Hey guys,

Recently, my video card (ati 1900xtx) has been giving me lots of trouble and I think its on the way out (keeps booting me out of games after a few minutes and keeps displaying weird lines on the screen even when I'm not in a game. I've been eyeing a Asus 8800gs for 55 bucks which would replace the 1900xtx. My questions are, would I need a new PSU for this card and will it fit in my case. Also, how much of an increase would I see in games? Im not a big PC gamer anymore since i have a 360 so anything that can play today's games will do fine. Would you guys recommend the 8800gs? Thanks.

I think the 8800GS/9600GSO is about twice the speed of a Radeon X1950Pro. I don't know how that card compares to an X1900XTX though. NCIXUS has that card for like $35 after rebate. I was thinking of picking up a couple just because they're so cheap. I have a couple of rigs with X1950Pro/GT cards in them.

$35AR????? Wow, awesome bang 4 the buck for modest gamering (1280x1024) and folding proteins for TeAm Anandtech. I have this card for these purposes. Mine runs fine off an Antec EA 430.
