Upgrade Suggestions, PSU Limited?

Hi Guys,

My photoshop machine is a Vostro, powered by an i7 with 8gb of ram.

There's a PCI-E16x slot in it and I'd like to add a video card to allow me to catch up on the games I've missed since my old Optron 175 and 7900GS's days.

I know my bottle neck will be the 350 PSU in the system now...

Edit: I guess I could swap in my old OCZ 520w PSU if that would give me more overhead!

Any suggestions?

Ati HD5770 (for $125 or so) will likely be your best bet if that's in your budget. It will run on that power supply, stronger cards may not. Not sure if the Vostro can take a standard-sized power supply. Others will have to chime in on that. I wouldn't bother with it unless you're really looking to do high resolution gaming.

I'd be gaming at 1920x1200 if possible and mainly playing newer FPS. I've heard its just a strait forward swap on the PSU.

I'd try to make the PS exchange first, to make sure it will work. Assuming you don't run into any problems, the price/performance leader for your system would likely be the nVidia GTX460 1GB. As you may know, new AMD/ATI cards are coming out this month, which while expected to be in the $200-$250 range, may drive the price down on existing cards. The GTX460 1GB is currently ~$200.
