upgrade situation with video card

after installing the new card and reinstalling DX, my nforce chipset drivers, installing the 66.93 drivers, my system shows little if any improvment playing Battlefield, Half life 2 etc. I benchmarked it before the upgrade with 3DMark 2001 and before it was 13100, after the best I could get was 13800, hardly an improvement, here are my specs

XP2700, 333FSB
Epox MB with nforce2 400 chipset
1 GB crucial 2700DDR ram
enlight 430 watt power supply

Should i see a big improvement with this card or with my current processor is this all im going to get using any card upgrade?
 
you should still see an improvement, ram & cpu aside

did you change your AGP setting from 4x to 8x? check your BIOS for that 1st (had to ask)
