OCZ ram has been around for awhile, shouldn't have any problems with it.

I went ahead and bought it today. What kind of app can I use to test the RAM. I had memtest for the PC.

OCZ is good and cheap after rebate. Virtually all DDR2 brands are affordable now, but I bought the first hot deal I saw last year for a "generic" ADATA module and it hasn't crapped yet.

I only wish my MBP C2D could go up to 4GB RAM.

Ok, I got the RAM installed and everything. What settings should I use for Parallels for system memory? As of right now I have it set at 1gb. Should I increase it or just leave it at 1gb?

C2D should go to 4GB no problem.

The early C2D MacBooks are limited to 3GB of RAM due to some other hardware limitation (chipset, I think).

4GB is not addressable unless the system has the Santa Rosa chipset.

You can install 4GB into earlier C2D Macs, but I think 3.3GB is the maximum addressable RAM or something like that.

the ocz 2x2GB ddr2-800 sodimms from newegg are what i put in my macbook pro (santa rosa so it was 4GB capable) and it works flawlessly. im also pretty sure that the new imacs can support the ddr2-800 speeds as opposed to the mbps still not support over ddr2-667.

btw, leopard will see all 4GB, as will vista x64.
