UPGRADE QUESTION!

Okay folks, here's the situation. I'm getting ready to do an upgrade on a friends computer, which is currently running a decrepit old AT MoBo with a Pentium 120 and a 1.2GB HDD. The upgrade will consist of a newer MoBo (FIC VA-503+) with a faster cpu (K6-2 400Mhz) and additional larger HDD (Quantum Fireball 4.3GB). What I intend to do is install the new hard drive, install the VIA 4in1 drivers, yank the old Mobo, re-install the new MoBo and remount all of his PCI and ISA cards - video card, sound card, etc. Since I'm not changing the drivers for the current PCI/ISA devices, do you guys foresee any problems? BTW, he's running Win95b. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Why not do yourself a favor and format/fresh install? Win95 has enough trouble with plug and pray! Install the new motherboard first! then your drives. Goin' to be tough to install those 4in1 drivers on that ol AT motherboard!

If your going to get a Fic 503+. Then get your hands on a k63+450. It will overclock easily to 550mhz. Some are even able to run 616mhz with great cooling. There are several places that sell them for around 50 dollars. I have this set up running at 600mhz. You will need to flash the newest bios of the board to recogize the k63+450 correctly. Check out AMDZONEFORUMS You will be able to find tons of help on setting this system up. I have found that the board will work just fine with the drivers that come with the board. I read a lot of people are having problems once they install the new 4in1 on their boards. Good luck!
