Upgrade question

I just upgraded my epox 8kha+ from a 1800+/geforce 3ti-500 to a 2400+/5900fx nu. During the first boot attempt it prompted "new cpu found enter updated processor settings into bios and save" or something to that effect.

I pretty much have default bios settings (no overclocking attempts...yet). What might I need to change or is this just a generic message?

Also in dxdiag processor type shows as unknown @2ghz. Why doesn't is show as 2400+.

thanks folks

You might need to install Service Pack 1 for WinXP and then download all the latest updates in order for your CPU to be properly listed as a 2400+ in system properties. I'm not sure on that tho.

thanks for the info. I looked in the bios and couldn't find that anywhere. From what you have told me, it doesn't seem like it will matter though.
