I currently have a Gateway FX 6800-01e with:
Intel Core i7-920 processor
3GB DDR3 memory
HD 4850 512MB
X58 Chipset Mobo
450 - 500 Watt power supply
I am pondering upgrading my graphics card to a 4850 crossfire set up, or possibly just running a 4850 2GB x2 card. The mother board supports crossfire, but I think that I would need a new power supply and some more fans in my case.
I was hoping to get a few recommendations on what I should get exactly (i.e brands, models that will support what I want to do, etc.) as I have not purchased any PC hardware in a long time.
Also, I know this may not be the correct place for this, but the CPU in my computer is 130W. Will increasing the power supply size have any benefits in regards to the CPU?
