I recently purchased this build from frys:

http://www.frys.com/product/8297046?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Is that 800 watt psu too much for this build?
And I was wondering what is the recommended best power supply I should get to replace the one it came with which Is this:

I'm looking to replace the generic psu and ram to have a longer lifespan

I'm wondering what made you buy a prebuilt unit, if you were going to replace the PSU anyway? Replacing the PSU is a job comparable to about half the actual build process, because you need to disconnect all the cables, then install a new unit, reconnect all the cables and make sure it's all neat and tidy. You could've built a custom PC from scratch, ensuring a high quality, balanced system from the get go while spending much less money.

The Fry's link says the power supply is 600W, not 800W. It does not mention make/model so I assume it stinks. And yes 600W is way more than you need to run an i7 with a 750 Ti. However if you're using the build for gaming, 600W is not a bad size because you might upgrade the graphics card later to something that does require that much power.

That Apevia is at least equally crap as the included unit.

If focused on gaming:
XFX TS 550W $64 ($49 after rebate) @ newegg

If not focused on gaming:
Antec EA-380D $42 @ superbiiz or $33 after rebate @ newegg.

The RAM does not need replacing.

That's a 600 watt and yes it is. If you intend to keep that card, I would get like a 450-500 watt or so.
