Which would be better to use for an upgrade proc? Athlon 64 3700+ Processor or Athlon64 Newcastle 3200+ Processor? If you want to know the specs the machine I am working on is an emachine t3304. I have ripped out everything basically except the mobo. I have added 2gb of memory and am adding a dedicated video card. I have also replaced the power supply with a 550w. so guys let me know if you can.

It looks like this PC has a socket 754 board from FIC. I wouldn't put a nickel in this thing, save your money and update it.

IMO, two choices worth thinking about, if not keep what you already have.

1) replace motherboard with a 939 board and dual core CPU, keep your 2GB, hope the PSU works with the new board (20 vs 24pins)

2) punt and get a whole new AM2 board, ram, CPU, hope the PSU works

Since you can get a decent dual core for $75, mATX $80ish, RAM for $75, I'd go with #2 if it will all work.
