Hello yall I wanted to get some (more) use out of one of my older workstations. I have a Tyan S1854 (Thunderbolt). This mobo is a dual P3; slot 1 style running two 450 Mhz at 100 FSB. According the Tyan the motherboard can handle upto the 850 Mhz. I have been doing some due diligence and discovered a couple of options .. I would like to some feedback on other alternatives or suggestions that I may have missed. For other reasons not mentioned I would like to minimize the costs to around $200 max.
- Purchase (through ebay or else) two 850 Mhz chips
- Explore the FCPGA adapters for slot 1 and purchase Tualatin style chips; not sure if bios can handle that or not ...
Thanks for any suggestions ..
