I recently picked up an Aspire 5670, and I was curious as to what all is upgradable with this laptop. I have a few questions on this model.
1. Is the CPU easily upgradable? I would like to eventually go with a Merom series Core Duo.
2. Is there anything I can do to increase the dedicated RAM for the Radeon Mobility x1400 onboard?
3. Are there any higher resolution LCD's I can install in this laptop?
I am fairly well experienced in laptop repair, and I'm not afraid to do some experimentation.
While I was checking out the memory sockets in this system, I noticed some solder traces that look like they would be for a memory socket. The traces are near the video chipset on the board, and I was wondering if it would be possible to install a memory socket and increase the dedicated video RAM to 256MB...
This laptop has some VERY impressive performance for the price, but I would like to know whether it would be easily possible to squeeze some additional performance out of it down the road.
Thanks,
Mike H.
