Upgrade PC now or wait till next big leap in technology?

Well, the PS3 and Xbox360 have amazing power, and they say the PS3's video card is more power than 2 6800U's in SLI! I was just going to upgrade to a A643000+ Venice, New motherboard, and a X800XL 256MB, and I am having second thoughts becuase this new technology is amazing and my upgrade looks like its a piece of trash. Will PC's take a hughe leap? Will nVIDIA and ATI's new video card's rule out the 6800/X800 line? Will everyone have dual core CPU's in a few months? And is 64bit even going to be the future?

i'd upgrade the videocard - probably the weakest link in your rig, if you are a gamer - and put the rest on hold till you actually SEE the next gen consoles/games . . . then decide 😉

Computer HW is gonna have to wait for SW anyway . . . do you feel your computer is "slow" at XP3000+? or is it just that there are 4800+ on the horizon making you "feel" slow?

End of 2005 on paper at least.
Q3 for graphics cards and processors supposedly, although who knows what actual availability will be like.
