Hello, my PC is described below in my sig. For the future upgrade i am thinking of p4 and DDR. But thinking closer to home is it worth going SCSI? By that i mean is the price vs performance ratio for a pc junky / gamer worth it. I am only a poor student and so feel the money could be better spent, is it worth keeping my IDE UDMA 100 or spending the £350+ for SCSI?

I will be upgrading to the NV 20 as i only have a Geforce 1 SDR and it is beginning to choke.

Also do you think the P4 and DDR combo is a good one, or is there a better long term (non VIA ;))(Spring / Early Summer) route? I have 256 megs of Crucial CAS 2 133 RAM am wonding if it is a waste to ditch this ram as i could only sell it for 50% of what i paid for it? Can the P4 run on standard SD Pc133 ram, and what is the performance like?

Thank you for your time.

I'm looking at CD Writers and am down to the following:

TDK 12x10x32 IDE CD-Re Writer £186.83 and 20 TDK 72 minute CD's

or

Plextor IDE 8x4x32 Internal CD-Re-Writer £139.83

(Running win 2000)

Which do you think is the better option. I know the plextor is a good drive and know relativly little about TDK but the speed has a 4x and 6x advantage. Which would you go for?
