Rig in 'sig' below.

IF we were considering upgrading the graphics, should we get a second Sapphire Vapor-X Radeon 5870 to run CrossFire, OR, get one of the current top-end cards...

And, are there charts out there now that show performance in various games for not just single vid cards, but also including cards running in SLI/CrossFire?

Thanks for any input...

Honestly, there is no single card thats worth the upgrade from a 5870 at this time.
You would have to go for 2 gtx560ti's (about 410$) or 2 6950's (about 500$) and sell the 5870. I think adding another 5870 would be ok if you can get one for less than $210.

2 5870's would = 2 6870 in crossfire. 2 gtx560ti's or 2 6950's would be about 10/15% faster in crossfire than 2 5870's.

These number are off the top of my head but are preety close.

What does father and son mean. YOu mean he will buy it for you ?

I dont understand what you want to do. 5870 is powerful ,,I would keep that until Kepler or AMD Varient then maybe things will be more clear.

Yeah, the 5870 is still a very good card. Hold off a few months till 28nm cards show up in a few months (hopefully)
