Upgrade or Not!

Hi guys. i am just wondering, if i should upgrade and if so, will there be a huge difference in gaming ?

here is my current hardware.

CPU: intel i5 2500K
RAM: 16GB DDR3 Cosair
GPU: Nvidia GTX 570 1.2GB VRAM
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H
Case: coolermaster C690 II
Cooling: Corsair H100
HDD1: 3TB
HDD2: 3TB
HDD3: 2TB
HDD4: 2TB
HDD5: 500GB

i was thinking to go with a haswell i5 4670K, change everything and get a GTX 770.

my current board supports only PCI E as i am on a 2gen cpu. if i upgrade to a 3rd gen cpu i can use PCI E 3.0. but i read that there is not a big difference between 2.0 and 3.0 .

so what do you think guys. i keep everything that i have now and just upgrade my GPU to a GTX 770 , and do a full upgrade after 1year or two?

i just need about 60+fps for any games at ultra settings on 1080p thats all. no AA. just AF 16x.😕

Don't upgrade the CPU, it wouldn't be worth it even if you didn't have to change sockets. You're pretty much GPU bottlenecked anyway, and you already have a great cooler for the 2500K to overclock it and make sure you stay GPU bottlenecked.

PCIe 3.0 doesn't make any practical difference when using one or even two high end GPUs. Tri-SLI setups start seeing some real benefit in it.

GTX 770 is quite a lot faster than 570, go for it. I'd get MSI 770 Gaming.

Cool, thank you very much for the quick reply "lehtv" . will do, i will just upgrade my GPU then, 🙂 , i was thinking about the Gigabyte 3 fans one OC. but i will check the MSI one now. 🙂

I agree with lehtv. And the MSI 770 Gaming is a great choice - it's incredibly quiet. I'd recommend it over the Gigabyte. Just because it has more fans doesn't make it better!

Hi "termie" i was thinking about the Gigabyte 3 Fans because i leave on a tropical island. the Seychelles. it is very hot here sometimes without aircon, 🙂 but i am reviewing the MSI one. thank you for the quick reply 🙂 ,

As Termie said, just becasue it has 3 fans doesn't make it better. Although if your living conditions are so hot that you have to choose between coolers so carefully, maybe you have the wrong idea about what temperatures graphics cards can safely withstand? I have no doubt that you'd be able to run a card with a reference blower cooler just fine

Agree with lehtv and Termie, a GTX 770 would be great upgrade for you. I wouldn't worry about the temps too much. The Seychelles may be tropical, but I don't think they're 90 C.
