AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3

but looking if the
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3

is it a upgrade or just about the same . only thing i see is the 2 more so called cores ??

next what would be a "major" upgrade from the 965 ..goingto Intell if i was to go that route .. for about 300.00
 
do you do anything on your comp that can actually use two more cores?

even though I don't know what you have in the rest of your system, i will hazard a guess that there are better upgrades to be had with $300
