With XP and eartlier OS'S you could get into big trouble with an upgrade. Now that Vista has had a chance to sorta settle in with users, is the same risk present? I get a gut feeling that if you use the Vista ready chack program on your computer and it doesn't give you a bunch of "uh ohs" an upgrade should be a piece of cake. Also, if you have been keeping XP current with all the microsoft updates and changes XP is as close to being Vista as it can get.
So what's the feel out there? Fresh install if you are building a new machine or just don't care to hassle with backing up stuff - or is an upgrade the most efficient way to go?
I'm only speaking of going from XP to Vista by the way.
