Upgrade on the Cheap!

Current system:

XP-M 2400+
EpoX 8RDA+ (nForce2)
2x512 Crucial PC2700
120g wd hd (ide)
Radeon 9500 128mb non-pro

Problem:

Video card went out, system is about 4 years old and really feels like it needs an upgrade. Only have around $200 to work with. At this point I can either replace the video card (hopefully upgrade in the process) or go for a little more of an overhaul.

Proposed Upgrade:

Athlon 64 3400+ with Biostar nForce3 Motherboard - $99
POWERCOLOR X1600Pro Radeon X1600PRO 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail - $89

Reasoning/Questions:

This motherboard will be able to take advantage of my old ram and hard drive, and will bring me into the next generation of processors.

Shipping + a HSF should put me at or just over my $200 goal, and this should be a pretty massive upgrade from my old system. (Right?)

Also, does anyone know if my old PSU will be able to power this new stuff? I've never had a problem with it in my current setup, but you never know. Here's the spec sheet -> Antec SL350

One last question - I'm currently using the integrated audio on my old nForce2 board, and found it to surprisingly good. Anyone know how the integrated audio on this Biostar board stacks up?

Thanks for looking! 🙂

Proposed upgrade should work like a charm, PSU is fine.

Be prepared to buy a PSU still..I had a 450W that I got in 2004 and it couldn't even power up my 3200+ and 5200FX geforce

Brand of PSU? There's a big difference between a 600W SuperDuperPowerGTX PSU and an Antec PSU.
