Upgrade motherboard

I am upgrading the 3rd (read: slowest) computer in the house. It currently has a Duron 900 Mhz CPU on an IWILL KK266 mobo. This machine is being used by my kids for homework etc and some lite gaming (ie: Age of Empires, HalfLife etc). Don't wanna spend a ton of money on it, I was thinking of the Athlon XP1700+ CPU, but what mobo?

Is the K7S5A still a good (low end) investment? Also considerng the M7VIG Pro from Biostar. Any other ideas?

I also need to upgrade memory, but not right away...It has 256MB PC133 Crucial RAM.

get a epox 8rga+ and generic ddr ram. my system is great.

I did not do any oc'ing but the board is supposed to be great for it.

You will need better ram to do that.

Well if you wish to keep PC133 ram and keep costs low, why not get an MSI Turbo 2 board. Supports all 133 FSB cpus and is very stable. There is only one downfall: it only supports PC133 ram.

You could look for a board that supports both types of ram or you could get the MSI KT4VL and buy some cheap DDR and have a fast and stable board.
