Upgrade Motherboard or Graphics card?

I have P4 2.2 Ghz on a Gigabyte Motherboard running at 400Mhz FSB with a G-Force 3 Graphics card.I would like to upgrade this setup but my problem is that you can no longer get P4s that run at 400Mhz FSB. So an upgrade would mean either a new Motheboard, CPU and memory or new graphics card. Cant have both due to cost. So what would give me the best perfomance boost for gaming, a new top of the range graphics card or motherboard to a P4 with 800 Mhz fsb and get the graphics card at a later date. the easyest route would be to put in a new graphics card but would I get the full perfomance with my set up.😕

get a new graphics card. A radeon 9600/9800 would be a nice upgrade even if you have a little of a cpu bottleneck.

ditto ....see if U can find a 9700 PRO online ... way better than 9600 and way cheaper than 9800
cheers

Thanks for the input, I will go for a graphics card upgrade for now and perhaps a major upgrade later in the year.

well if it's gaming that you're after then sure you'll see much better performance just by upgrading the graphics card. the ati's recommended by twsmit will make good buys and can handle all the games out there now. my cpu, board, and memory run at about similar speeds to your setup now but my graphics card really helps make my games fly.
