Just wondering if it will be possible to update the processor in a macbook pro. The new ones are supposed be be much better at battery life.

They won't be "much better" at battery life, but IIRC all MacBook's processors are soldered in. No upgradeable CPU for you...

Regardless of whether or not it's possible, it wouldn't be worth a few hundred extra dollars (not to mention the risk of voiding your warranty) just so you could start using the system sooner. Apple is also likely to revise the case or other specifications as well in the next revision. You'd end up kicking yourself for being so impatient.

The new MacBooks aren't going to be out till around September. (Perhaps for the Mac-Expo in Paris?)

I just got my MBP last week and am very happy with it. No whine, no build defects and the heat is what I was expecting of a thin, powerfull Laptop with a shell made of heat conducting material.
