I've recently upgraded an older GF3 video card running 29.42 drivers to a new 128MB Ti 4200 running the 40.72 drivers that came with the card. Now Janes F/A-18(a DX7 game) exibits a flashing grid over ocean areas along with onscreen text being displayed there as well. I've tweaked most available options and even used Riva Tune to tweak others with no difference. The card is not overclocked and all other 3D apps run ok. I'm hoping some Nvidia guru can point out a driver tweak. I would rather not try the downgrade to the drivers to the 29.42 series, Thanks.

re-install DX7 or DX8 whichever version you have. If you are running an OS before Win XP like win98 or win2k, anytime you change hardware/drivers that access sound or audio components re-installing directx is a good idea.

Thanks for the tips!
I did download and install the Omega drivers, the only version available is 40.72 but they did fix 90% of the problem. There is still a little bit of texture flashing but it's happens infrequently during the game.
