Ok, some back ground. I have/had a Asus p4s333, 1.6A, GF3 Ti200 and the usual other stuff. WellI swaped my mobo out, put in a P4PE and1.8A and a GF4 4400.

It started up, goes through POST but right before windows loads I get a Blue screen that says in so many words.

Windows can not finish loading because some thing is wrong with your HDD. You have a virus, your HDD is not terminated correct (it's not SCSI) or something else is rong with yourHDD. Please run scandsk/ f

Then it gives a row of numbers.

beforeI replaced my mobo I did not remove my old p4s333 drivers or video drivers. Both my video cards are Leadtek and I figuredthe drivers would be pretty much the same. I thought I could get it running and then load my P4PE drivers on top of my P4s drivers. But the fact that it says I have a problem with my HDD is what has me baffled.

Is My HDD screwed because it still has my P4S drivers on it? Should I just do and Fdisk on the whole HDD?

Help. I was not looking to be down allweek long for this. :(

its extreamly difficult to go from sis to intel boards on the same drive.
i was able to get it to work but it was still flakey.

bite the bullet ~ fdisk format and reinstall. all will be well :D

(make sure you use the latest intel inf & intel AA provided on the cd)

install order is:
intel inf
intel AA
directx
vid drivers

HTH :)

Best off runnin FDisk, probably not what ya wanted to hear, but whenever you switch mobo's best off re-installing OS, especially when you go from a SIS chipset to an Intel chipset, your just asking for trouble....if you wanna gamble a bit you could try booting up with your XP CD and try a repair....

I had a feeling that was the awnser but just wanted to ask some one who knew more then me. I forgot all about the chip sets being diffrent. I already tried to boot from my cdrom with my P4PE cd installed in it but that didn't work.

One more question, sinceI cant get to a command prompt , At least I don't know how , how can I get there? I don't need to reformat my drive, just fdisk it right. I can still keep my drive intact?

Edit: inf AA? Are those drivers on the mobo CD?

Try and do a repair with the windows CD. Then boot from a floppy and fdisk and format if that does n't work.
