<< Since your system is working very well, there is no point in upgrading. Much more so if you combine that with the following:
1) your PC needs don't absolutely require the additional speed by the newer chipsets,
2) you're not seriously afflicted with PC envy and absolutely have to be at the bleeding edge,
3) you're not obsessed with having absolutely the best benchmarking scores.
If I have PC $$ to spare, I probably would go get a GF3, get the new Audigy sound card, get a set of Klipsch speakers, or buy a bunch of great PC games instead.

That is just it... I have a GeForce 2 Pro, and it runs everything fine...
I have yet to load a game that I cannot set to max detail settings... I remember in the days of my 386/25, 486/66, P5 100, etc. when I sometimes had to turn down settings to get games to play well... (Falcon 3.0 and Strike Commander come to mind)...
The truth is, short of MP3 encoding, DIVX encoding, etc. my machine is faster than I am in everything...
I just don't need Quake scores in the 200 fps range... My monitor is only set to 120 hz so I won't see more than 120 fps anyway... 🙂
As for raw speed, it does somewhat bother me that I have an inefficent chipset, that some minor changes to the inside make it faster like that...
This being said... um... so what, I'm not going to spend $100 just so I can say it works "better". 🙂
This is why I don't switch to a 1.4GHz Athlon, even if it would only cost me about $30 or so once I sold my 1.2GHz Athlon...
Sigh...
I suppose I just wanted someone to tell me to not do it...
But I want to do SOMETHING... 🙂
I never thought there would be a day when my computer did everything just fine, and that I could afford to upgrade it, but there would be no reason to...
A month ago I upgraded from 512MB RAM to 768MB RAM and saw zero difference... Sigh... That was a whole $21 wasted... 😀 RAM is so cheap I want to cry...
