Hi Everyone,

I was looking to upgrade my video card from a GTX 460 v2 to something more powerful (want it to play the more recent games with no big issues & I also do some video editing & rendering) The cards I was looking at was:

GTX 660 ($180), GTX 760 ($250), GTX 770 2GB ($330).

I currently have 2 monitors, one that has 2560x1440 res & the other 1920x1080 res. Based on research, If I wanted to game in 2560x1440, it was recommended to get at least a 770, as the 760 would have hard time with producing decent frame rates.

However I'm not sure if I want to spend $330, & wouldn't have a problem gaming on the 1920x1080 monitor. My question: Is the $70 difference between the 660 & 760 worth it? Is the $80 jump from the 760 to 770 worth it? (For both questions assume games being played at the 1920x1080 res). Also is there another Nvidia card that I didn't list that would be better then these (besides the 780 & Titan) ?

I will also add the reason why I didn't mention AMD is because I've had bad luck with AMD cards in the past, but also did see that the 7970 runs with the 770 & is about $30 (or so) cheaper.

I'm willing to spend $330 for a video card, but want it to be worth that amount, as usually the most I spend on a video card is around the $100-$130 range (AR). I kind of look at this like purchasing a hard drive (yes I know I can't compare this the same way) where if 1 TB costs $70, 2 TB costs $100, & 3 TB costs $180, most people would get the 2 TB & wait for the 3 TB to come down in price.

My current computer setup is below

For the 6850, What would be considered an upgrade for this card that is in the $100 - $150 range ? The main usage of this card is to play games.

Thanks

Lots of 7950's going for $200.00 with lots of OC Potential, 384 bit and 3GB of Video Ram...

I wouldn't go down to 660 (non Ti) and 7870 level, it won't serve well for long.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I decided to go with the 670 on the main pc.

I have decided to wait on the 2nd computer, at least until the primary user starts to complain & then readdress it then.
