Hello everyone have a quick question. Currently have a Ryzen 5 2600, 8gb of ram, and a gtx 1060 6gb.

Looking to do a few upgrades in preparation for World of Warcraft classic next month and to improve my PUBG frame rates. 90% of the time is WoW and the other 10% is PUBG both played at 2560x1440.

What would be the most worthy upgrade from my gtx 1060 6gb around $400 max. I know that puts me around 5700xt or 2060 super. Would this even be a worth while upgrade in my situation or should I just wait it out until the next gen of gpu’s?

Thanks guys

Dang it was about to link ya to a sweet triple fan Asus Strix 2070 for $429 out the door before $30 rebate but Newegg dropped the ball on the so called 5 day sale and put the price back up to ludacris no go pricing a day early. Sale should have been effective till Friday. Well it did go out of stock yesterday but not sure why the sale ended early either way.

Having the Strix 2070 i can certainly recommend the 2060 Super version given performance is a couple fps off at best. I set a fan profile to 45% once pass 53cel and the thing barely hits 64cel. Can't hear it at all in my build. Its not htpc quiet mind you but being a headphone gamer who doesn't have sound proof headphones, my tower hardly makes enough noise to be destructive over them.

I would wait for the NAVI AIB cards in August and then decide between RX 5700XT and RTX2060 Super.

After mulling it over I think that’s exactly what I’m going to do. And if nothing really stands out I may wait until April next year and hope to pick up a gpu/game combo with Cyberpunk.

Maybe true, but wouldn't you want to wait for the AIB cards, with a better cooler instead of a blower? That's what I'm personally waiting on, I think. Hope that they're under $500.

Aren’t the basic non 1337 ub3r gam3r overclock3d maximum pwnage editions usually cheaper than the reference model while still offering a better cooling solution?

Prob not but its certainly worth the premium. A reference 5700 should did look interesting to me price wise but given what i play Nvidia was the better option and for a $29 premium over a cheap 2060 Super i got much for it.

Price/performance wise the 5700XT is a better option than the 2060Super, unless you want really want RTX.
BTW rumor says 3rd party 5700XT cards will be closer to $450 than $400 but may perform faster and have better cooling.

Well it looks like I’m probably gonna be waiting anyways. Micro center 5700 and 5700 xt inventory is cleared out.

Nah, blower style is actually better in quite a lot of cases, where people use cheap, small cases with no case cooling. In these cases a blower style would actually cool the card more, compared to blower cooler.

All the newer gen cards are so overpriced...
The 5700XT or a 2060S/2070S are an upgrade - double the performance, give or take, you also are paying close to double the price... The days of double the price at the same price point...
Waiting for the 5700XT non reference sounds like a good plan.
