Upgrade from GF2Ti ?

My system is Athlon 1.2Ghz, 512M PC2100 DDR SDRAM, Epox 8K7A (AMD 761 chipset).

What do you think would be a reasonable upgrade? Will GF4 Ti4200 be much better than say GF4 MX440 given processor limitations (I play only RTS games, and I'm not very demanding at all)? And what can be other options (preferrably cheap, and with low power consumption)?

I pretty much need to try several upgrades as my GF2Ti for some misterious reason started picking up some electric noise or something, Radeon VE was even worse, an old Riva 128 and a GF4 Ti4200 both work fine 🙂 but my power supply cant handle the latter, so it would be a double investment... so i'm thinking of trying MX 440, but if it doesnt work, what could other options be?

Thanks !

Have you considered a Geforce 3 Ti-200? They're pretty cheap, perform well, and I don't think they have any special power requirements (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

consider a geforce 4ti 4200 or a radeon 9000 pro.

the gf4mx 440 will give you almost the same performance as the geforce 2 ti - definately not worth it

Well, I was actually pretty much satisfied with GF2Ti performance (some improvement would be nice of course), at least until I try C&C generals (but the processor could become a bottleneck there anyway), but it just doesnt want to work properly for some reason... 🙁

I havent considered GF3 Ti200, because I was suspecting the power requirements could be about the same as for GF4 Ti4200 and it looks like prices for the actual cards are not far off...
