Upgrade from GF2 to GF3 problem

I just upgraded my GeForce 2 GTS to a (Visiontek) GeForce 3. I'm running XP, so I just shut down, swapped cards, and booted back up. The usual New Hardware Found balloon popped up, said it installed some drivers, and then finished. I reinstalled the 21.83 Detonators just for good measure. I rebooted, and now whenever I play any DirectX games, try to watch .avi files in WMP, or even run DXDiag, I get a blue screen and a memory dump. Did I miss something on how best to swap video cards in XP? I have an Asus CUSL2 with a P-III 1ghz, if that matters. Any ideas?
Thanks!

That was the wrong thing to do. You should have gone to add/remove programs and removed nVidia's driver before shutting down and swapping cards.
