Upgrade from a Z68 i7 2700K SB Platform?

After 3 years I see no reason to after extensive research for a Home PC, when I run 4.8Ghz 24/7 under 45C and can bench 5.2Ghz at 68C CPU Temps Idling at 34C.

Yes I'm under water and run CF OEM 290X's, also under water with similar temps to the CPU at what ever speed... eg: 1180 x 1500.

Perhaps my question is where is this all going when I see no persuading advantages over the last 3 years.

Believe me, I'm content with my 3 year old platform for a home PC as it stands considering to what's comparable today.

I had a 3570k overclocked to 4.7 ghz, and my brother fried my system so I had to get something cheaper, I got the l5639 made in 2010 and it's been in vast improvement in many applications, and there's been no noticeable decrease in performance anywhere else. Cpu performance is at a major stand still...

I'm in the same boat except I've got a 2600K @4.2 Ghz. There is nothing I do where that feels at all slow so even if current generation CPU's were significantly faster I'd be hard pressed to spend the money. For the just released Broadwell, Intel is only claiming a 5% performance gain over Haswell and each generation since SB has been pretty similar so the Broadwell should be 15% - 20% faster than SB at the same clock speed. But my relatively mild OC should put me at similar performance to a stock brand new CPU and like I said it isn't at all slow as it is.

No reason to upgrade until what I have dies in all liklihood.
 
I'd have to agree with the sentiment so far. A SB at your clocks vs the performance of a z97 build isn't a massive upgrade. I myself find myself content on z77 myself.
