Upgrade from a FX6300 to a FX8370E worth it??

I have a FX6300 on a ASRock 970 Extream4 MB running W7 Pro

I don't 'game' or overclock,
I do photo viewing & editing with smaller photo file sizes (due to limitations of a much older camera which I plan on replacing)
I also may get interested in video editing. Not 2160, only 720p and maybe 1080p if I can bring myself to deal with the rediculus number of codecs in use. 😡

I realize those last items have most of the bearing on the video card (which is another thread).

I choose the 8370E over the 8370 due to the reduced power consumption.

BTW, the FX9590 & 9370 are out of the question due to cost and much greater power consumption.

Yes but it also has much lower performance,to the point that it's close to a slightly overclocked 6300 (the 6350) .
Either go for performance or stay where you are.

Looks as the FX-8350 would be the best choice. I didn't see that number in my initial searches.
