Upgrade from 8800 GTS

Hi all,

Recently my 8800 GTS started making red lines onscreen (no OC'ing). So I guess its time to upgrade my video card.

My current setup is as follows
M2N-E
AMD Pehnom X4 9500 OC'd to 2.4GHz
4GB ram.

Im looking for a sub 200$ card which leaves me with the following

Asus GTS 450 1gb 142$
Asus GTX 460 758mb 188$
Asus 5770 1gb 150$
(Canadian $)

Anyways, Im worried about with my older tech that even if I go with the 460 that Ill get bottlenecked.

Thanks for the input.

Matt

I forgot to add my screen is 24" 1920x1200.

I personally dont game much on the PC, but my bro mostly plays League of Legends. Maybe the new fallout

Do you have a lifetime warranty on your EVGA 8800 GTS? If so and its crapping out might as well get a comparable card on them for free. I would think you should get a decent upgrade.

He's right you card has a lifetime warranty. I think all 8800gts cards made by EVGA did.

Hey, thanks all for the replies. I didnt know Newegg had a .ca. Their prices dont seem too bad. The 6850 looks pretty good for the price. Im spliting the cost for the card with my bro. Its going to depend on if he wants a new computer or not.

Thanks.

Did you register your evga card within the first 30 days after you bought it? If you didn't or if it isn't an ar model then you don't have a lifetime warranty. Otherwise I'd rma it for a better card. Their cs is first rate and they'll take care of you.

You can keep your 8800 GTS as phsyx processor and a 450 GTS as your primary if you have the slot that is. gl
