I'm looking for some help on upgrading my current Video Card.
My main purpose of which is for gaming, I currently run a Geforce 8500GT
which delivers decent FPS but lots of slowdown and frame drops in heavier action.
(In games like Team Fortress 2 and COD4 which are the two main games I play)

My CPU and Ram are fairly decent
(Athlon 64 X2 +4200 ~2.21Ghz and 2GB G.skill RAM)

My current GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814186026

I'm considering upgrading to one of the following:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814127339
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814102820
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814127362
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814500077

I know that there are other cards out there that will surpass all of these, but
the rest of my system doesn't scream "gamer" so I'm just looking for something that'll
help me squeeze as much out of my current setup. While at the same time not killing
my wallet. If anyone knows of any better deals for better cards I'm all open for suggestion,
obviously. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Any of the cards posted thus far will work well. You will be CPU-limited in TF2, and all of the cards should handle COD4 just fine. If you can afford it, the HD4830 would be the way to go since it is the fastest one out of the bunch, followed by the 9600GT, and then the HD3850.

Go for either a 4830 or a 9600GT (whatever is cheapest). Getting a little extra out of that X2 wouldn't hurt either, maybe get it up to around 2.6?

Thanks for the replies everyone, I think the HD4830 is going to be the one.

Also ExarKun333, I tried to overclock this chip and I was able to get it stable at 2.4, loosened my ram timings up from 2-3-2-5 to 2.5-3-3-5 (dropped the multi from 11 to 10). But for some reason my fsb resets (only sometimes) after a reboot. I've set the bios to halt on no errors, but yet it resets to 200Mhz from 240Mhz. The ram timings and everything are still saved. Any clue on why only the fsb would dump back down to 200? I'd like to also take the chip higher if possible, the HSF i have on it is pretty large (only cooling would be air) and under stress w/ Everest its only gone to about 52C when OC'd to 2.4.

Thanks again to the three of you who did reply.
