System specs as of now are are:

DFI NF3 250gb Lanparty
AMD 64 3200 s754
1gb Corsair XMS
EVGA 6800 Ultra Extreme AGP

I'm thinking about make the change to s939, so what would be a good upgrade from my 6800 Ultra ?

Actually I'm not really even sure about making the switch because I've never had a problem with my current setup playing any game I've tried to run.

I don;t plan on breaking the bank on a new vid card, like I did with the EVGA when I bought it :)

$300..... options are basically X1900GT, 7900GT, or X1800XT (if they still can be found, haven't been following tech for 2-3 months.)

Or, wait for the X1900XT 256MB.

And you want Conroe, not Skt 939.

I'm assuming Conroe is Intel ?

I reall wanna stick with AMD... When I has Intel a few years ago, i had nothing but problems..Overheating - Crashing ect...

I've been out of the hardware for a while, so I'm not really up to par with whats going on the hardware world, lol

intel has come up in the world in terms of performance to wattage, they beat amd by a longshot, considering a 300 dollar cpu beats a now 800 dollar cpu. may wanna consider intel, i know i am. and i like amd alot.

Conroe is much faster then AMD, heat problems are a thing of the past & if you can afford the extra cost is def what I would suggest. The biggest considerations are that it requires DDR2 memory so you wouldn't be able to use your current RAM, also since it was just released you can expect to pay a premium for awhile until more cpu's hit the supply chain.

If you really want to stick with AMD & keep your current DDR go with a 3800+ X2 skt 939 & a cheap NForce 4 mb like the Asus A8N-E & either way the X1800XT or a 7900GT will be your best GPU choices for the moment.

Go Intel, Have always bought AMD expect for a laptop but Intel have come out with something special, heat levels are under control now

I suggest you look at some Core 2 Duo benchmarks:
