Upgrade from 4,200 to 7,200 rpm

My specific notebook model (Compaq Presario R3370us) .

Currently has a 40gb 4,200 rpm ATA/100 hard drive in it.
I want to upgrade to xxgb 7,200 rpm

but... Newegg only has ATA-6 Models, and SATA-150

Could ATA-6, or SATA-150 be backwards compatible
to fit my EIDE ATA100 Drive Standards ?

isn't ATA6 just one of the ATA66/100/133 specs? If so, shouldn't it work?

ATA-6 is ATA-100. ATA-6 drives would be compatible. SATA drives would not.
