Upgrade for Abit BH6

I'd like to upgrade the performance of my aging Abit BH6 (Slot 1 + Celeron 333). The Celeron is pretty nice, I can o/c to 416 MHz, no problem. But I need more than that.

Looking around, I got really confused instead.
I'd like to put at least Celeron 900 in it, but I wonder if this mobo will support it?

Also I'd like to buy Asus' slocket:

But even after days of "researching", I still can't confirm whether that combo will work with Abit BH6.

Can anyone help please?
Thanks! 🙂

sufehmi, a Celeron 900/Asus Slotket is certainly a viable combination, as are PIII's up to 1GHz. Be sure to avoid the newer Celerons w/ the Tualatin core, as well as the Tualatin PIII's. Another option, depending on how much you want to spend, might be the Powerleap PL-iP3/T Celeron 1.2GHz setup. Powerleap also has PIII combo's but IMO the best bang for the buck is the Celeron 1.2GHz setup.

The key to getting your BH6 working w/ newer cpu's is a BIOS flash. If you have a rev1.0x board, then you want to flash to BIOS version SS. If you board is a rev1.1, then go w/ the SP flash.
