Upgrade for a Ti4200

Can anyone recommend a better vid card upgrade for the price than a GeForce 6600GT (about $185).

I have a GeForce 4 Ti4200 now, with an Athlon 64 2800+ and 1 gig of memory.

Edit: Needs to be an AGP card.

you can find used 6800s for around that price in the fs/t forums.

Yeah, but unless you want to "gamble" with used, then the 6600GT is definitely the way to go. However, if you can get a reliable source for a used 6800NU, then by all means get it, as it, IMHO, is even better than a 6600GT, with 4 more pipelines and 2x the memory bandwidth. Either way, they're both good cards.

At $185 I don't think you can beat a solid 6600GT. Which brand/model are you scoping out?

oh yah, theyll both serve him well coming from a 4200. there are plenty of great traders *cough, cough* who are trust worthy that have 6800s for sale.
