Question,

My gf currently has a this epox board running with a P4 1.6ghz. It's a socket 478. Would it be possible to upgrade the proc to any p4 3+ghz that is also a socket 478? I know the epox 4G4A only supports up to 533 FSB, but I would assume the 3ghz with 800 FSB will just operate at the lower speed, correct?

Any help would be appreicated.
thanks in advance!

Possibly not. The newer p4's will not post on many older mobos. Newegg sells some refurbs pretty cheap, and the 865pe boards are dropping in price with the arrival of newer socket 775's.

Interesting tip, thanks. The refurbished mobos on newegg do look pretty cheap.
