An obvious rookie here with probably a dumb question but here goes. I have a gateway P5-166 pc, atx form factor, and 145 watt power supply. I want a motherboard with included video and audio. Would I be able to fit the Asus A7VI-VM with a Duron 750 in this case? Based on microatx specs I reviewed, it looks like I would be shy one mounting hole near the PCI slots. Can this be easily corrected? Also, is the power supply too small for this setup? I only plan to add two NIC cards and one modem. Could there be a cheaper setup? Perhaps an 810 motherboard or even a mb with no included video but with a cheap video card. (I don't need 3d on this system, just simple 2d graphics at the most). Thanks in advance for any advice.

Ok, first off, I don't know what Gateway puts in their machines, but if you have an ATX form factor case you probably have at least a 235watt PS. Also, ATX is a standard, meaning you should be able to fit any ATX motherboard in there. It's quite possible that Gateway has modified their case in some way.

Most of the big name PC makers like Dell, compaq, gateway used to use alot of cases and mobos that were espeically designed for them and proprietary in nature or non-generic.

You will have to ccheck a few things like is the PS bay you want to use the standard size for a ATX PS.

My advise it to check things out inside your case. The cost of a new PS is almost the cost of a entire new case with PS included. Your probably better off getting a ATX type new case and avoid any problems if your not sure about the Gateway case you have already.
