Hi guys, trying to decide if I should upgrade to Windows 10 Professional, issues I have are the following:

1. Not supported by Dell... I'm not sure if this is actually an issue.
2. I've heard of non-specific issues related to drivers, not sure. Some say it will work, some say it won't.
3. I suspect my Radeon HD6950 should be enough for Windows 10.

Anybody think I will have issues with installation?

Current Specs are in my signature.

AMD has official Windows 10 drivers for your card, so that shouldn't be a problem:
https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-hd/amd-radeon-hd-6000-series/amd-radeon-hd-6950

BUT the reason you don't have "official support is here:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000006105/processors.html

No official support from Intel or Microsoft for the X58 Chipset on Windows 10.

Some have been able to get it to work though:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2778343/windows-upgrade-unique-x58-motherboard.html

My advice would be to image your system to another hard drive and run the upgrade on that, to see how things turn out.

Yeah.... I have to say I am more than a little confused now, what all this is saying is that I should not be able to run Windows 10...

Yet, I went ahead and successfully installed Windows 10 Professional *What da "insert expletive here"*…… How does this make any since at all?

"Not supported" usually means that Microsoft / vendors either don't bother to test or develop new software/drivers,

or don't have time to test all the hardwares on the market, it does not mean the hardware or old software/drivers absolutely wouldn't work.

They just don't have the time or resource to develop & test all of them. There are just too many devices.

WinTel ecosystem is completely different from Apple's

I have a T3500 (X5650 with 24GB RAM) running Windows 10 without any issue. You should be fine.
