Upgrade Dell from XPhome to XPpro

If I buy a new Dell 700m laptop with XP Home and the optional cd can I buy a XP Pro upgrade, say from newegg or my wifes college, can I upgrade that install on the Dell and not void my Dell warranty?

Except dell is not likely to diagnose software problems if you call tech support and your config doesnt' match what you were sold. I would suggest (if you do need to call) just telling them your running XP, no need to be more 'specific'.
