I've been thinking about upgrading to A64 from my Athlon XP-M 2400 set up recently. My dilema is that I dropped $250 bucks about 3 months ago to pick up a BFG 6800NU agp card and hate to think about the loss I would have to take on that as well as replacement cost to pick up a PCI-X card to boot.

I am a gamer, but mostly been playing WoW & HL2 these days...a lot more of the former than the latter. Wondering if you guys think the future upgrade options of the NF4 boards is worth the extra cash and hassle to sell current graphics card.

Other question is to get a decent jump in performance over current set up which A64 would be my best bet? The XP-M 2400 I got wasn't the best one out there, best stable overclock I can get is 2.1 Ghz, but at that it runs a bit hot so ramped it down to 2.0 Ghz.
Any suggestions / thoughts would be appreciated

Just keep the XP-M unless your computer can't do something you want it to do. It should run HL2 and WoW just fine. If you must upgrade just get a 939 agp mobo

Im in a similar situation. I picked up an agp 6600gt, and now i want to switch over to an A64 system. On the upside, the nForce4 craze has droped the price on the nForce3 chipsets. Right now im thinking about getting a 3200+ 754 with a nForce3 250gb mobo. The upgrade path will be limited, but the way i see it is that this should keep me happy for a good year or more. By then PCI-E mobos will be much less expensive.

But if you are someone who likes to upgrade every couple of months, go with a 939/nforce4 ultra combo.
