Upgrade cruft-what get's left behind?

So I just upgraded my T-Mobile GS5 to Marshmallow (6.01). It's been a while since I've done a full version upgrade; does this process leave useless files behind, or is it able to clean up after itself? If not, where would I look for crap I can delete? TIA.

do a reset of the phone after the upgrade if you really want to be sure (don't forget to backup contacts and such).

Unless you're having issues I'd say don't worry too much about it though.
